MANGROVE_2025_46x55x2,4 cm

No. 1517_Mangrove is a work created in 2025 using the squeegee technique . A 2.4 cm-thick plywood panel served as the painting surface. This small-format work, measuring 46 x 55 cm, shines with great visual richness.

A network of impasto-like, overlapping layers and streaks of colour spills across the picture surface, revealing to the viewer a harmonious, landscape-inspired composition through a kaleidoscopic interplay of richly nuanced shades of blue, pink and green.

A shimmering interweaving of leaves and gnarled roots seems to rustle above a brackish green-brownish river, and from the depths and expanses of the ‘Mangrove’ rises a lively tangle of notes, reminiscent of a symphony by John Cage.

The almost sculptural application lends the work additional energy and movement. The random yet controlled and even flow of the cyan-blue texture conveys tranquillity and harmony, allowing the mind to plunge into the depths of a humming ‘marsh landscape’.
